Fashion For A Social Cause: Ngee Ann Polytechnic Runway Show

My team, partnered with Singapore Fashion Runway, a social enterprise that empowers the special needs community through fashion, to organize NP's edition of an inclusive runway. Getting both the special needs community and students of Ngee Ann to walk the runway together, in hopes to change youth's perception of the special needs community.

Achievements

• Produced projection timeline of project workflow

• Executed marketing efforts such as publicizing event posters around campus

• Recruited 10 student models to walk the runway with 10 special needs models

• Attracted a total of 240 audiences to the runway show

Learning Points

• Understood the importance of anticipatory skills as it is essential in every project planning, to foresee the upcoming tasks leading up to an event

• Learnt to communicate professionally with industry-partners

• Gained the experience of planning and executing an event/ show

Impact

• Provided a platform for students to interact with the special needs youths and vice versa

• Increased NP student's awareness of the special needs community

• Enabled 240 student audiences in changing their perception towards people with special needs
